While I love Engine99 it is a bit robust even for my hardcore palate to take as an all-day smoke. Like a chocolate brownie. This blend is regal in every shape, way and form. With such a small sampling of only one bowl, I can tell that there is an enormous amount of complexity in this blend that will take many, many revisits to appreciate. The latakia and the oriental are wel balanced, sometimes giving the impression that theres some black cavendish in there, but its not, its the creamy latakia. Who knows why, but this blend somehow burns fine when it's "wet", right out of the tin, once it's well lit. Not heavy strength. Although some other blends do come in the same ballpark, they never come very close to the real thing. But as Maxwell Smart would say, it "missed it by that much". It comes in little squarish flakes side by side in rows, inside the plastic insert trays in the half pound bags. Burns cool and clean and there is nothing else quite like it around that I have come across. Not sure its worth the price on the second hand market, but I keep coming back to it. I carefully tried to maintain the flake when pulling it from the tin, folded it twice and stuffed it into a bent brandy egg.
